How We Support Continuous Learning and Development for Our Allied Health Team

At Gen Health Hamilton, we’re all about helping our team grow, both personally and professionally. We believe that continuous learning is key to delivering the best care to our patients and ensuring every team member feels empowered in their career. Here’s how we support ongoing education, training, and professional development within our clinic.

Regular Professional Development Sessions and Mentoring

Learning never stops at Gen Health! We host regular professional development (PD) sessions tailored to meet the needs of our team, covering everything from the latest treatment techniques to emerging trends in allied health. Our new graduates benefit from weekly PD, while our experienced team members enjoy fortnightly sessions. We also offer wellbeing mentoring to ensure everyone is building a career that’s fulfilling and sustainable. At Gen Health, it’s about growth—both in your career and your personal well-being.

Access to Online Learning Resources

We understand the importance of flexibility, so we provide access to a wide range of online learning resources, including our Gen Health Portal. Our team has memberships and subscriptions to top-tier educational platforms, allowing everyone to learn at their own pace. Whether you’re balancing a busy clinic day or want to dive into something new after hours, these resources are designed to fit seamlessly into your routine.

Comprehensive 0-100 Induction Program

Starting a new role can be daunting, but at Gen Health, we’ve made sure that joining the team is supportive and structured. Our 0-100 induction program guides new team members through their first 100 days, easing the transition into private practice. It’s not about rushing—it’s about stepping into the role with confidence, knowing you’ve got the support you need every step of the way.

Funding for External Courses and Certifications

We’re big believers in investing in our team’s growth, and that includes financial support for further education. Every year, we provide up to $1000 (pro rata) for external courses, workshops, and certifications, plus 5 days of paid study leave. We also encourage our rural team to access additional scholarships and grants through RWAV to keep advancing their expertise. At Gen Health, learning is a priority—not a burden.

Collaborative Learning Environment

We thrive on teamwork at Gen Health, and we’re all about sharing knowledge. Whether it’s combined PD sessions or informal chats over morning and afternoon tea, our team is always exchanging ideas and problem-solving patient cases together. These tea breaks aren’t just about catching up—they’re dedicated times to work on clinical notes, collaborate, and build our collective clinical reasoning skills. This spirit of collaboration ensures we’re constantly learning from each other, creating a strong, supportive environment.

Opportunities for Career Advancement

We’re committed to helping our team build long, rewarding careers, with clear pathways for progression. Whether you’re aiming to specialise in an area like pelvic health physiotherapy, sports and musculoskeletal physiotherapy, or endorsed podiatry—or you’re looking toward a leadership role—we provide the training, mentorship, and support to help you get there. At Gen Health, you don’t have to look elsewhere to grow; we’re here to help you achieve your professional dreams within our clinic.
